Unauthorized attachment upload via missing write-permission check
Published May 25, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Broken access control in Atlassian Confluence Server and Data Center allows remote authenticated users to upload attachments to read-only pages. The attachments feature authorizes an upload for a user who can view the target page without requiring that user's write permission. Page-read access is required, and successful exploitation changes page content by adding an attacker-controlled attachment without granting broader page-edit rights.
