Remote command execution via unsanitized streaming hostname
Published Jan 14, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Command injection in Netdata Agent stable before 1.37 and nightlies before 1.36.0-409 allows remote attackers to execute commands. health_alarm_execute passes the streamed node's unsanitized registry_hostname to spawn_enq_cmd when an alert fires. Exploitation requires an accepted streaming connection and a triggered alert; commands run with the Agent service account's privileges, usually netdata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
