CVE-2023-22474Network attack vector

Master-key access via spoofed client IP

Published Feb 3, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Authentication bypass in Parse Server before 5.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to evade master-key IP restrictions. The request middleware trusts an attacker-supplied X-Forwarded-For value as the client address when no proxy is present. Exploitation requires a valid master key and a masterKeyIps deployment without a proxy, granting master-key access from a disallowed address.
