File and conversation disclosure via passcode bypass
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025
Improper access control in Nextcloud Talk Android before 15.0.2 allows physically proximate attackers to read files and conversations. The notification-opening flow raises conversation controllers above the passcode screen instead of keeping the authentication controller foremost. Physical possession of a device with a configured Nextcloud account is required, and the observed impact is limited to reading that account's files and conversations.
