Secret disclosure via variable preview unmasking

Sensitive information disclosure in affected Octopus Server releases allows remote attackers to read stored variable secrets through preview. The variable preview function renders a masked sensitive variable in clear text, bypassing the normal write-only treatment of saved secrets. Octopus Deploy has not disclosed the request, permissions, or configuration needed to reach preview; the consequence is limited to secret disclosure.
