CVE-2023-22451Network attack vector

Account compromise via absent password validation

Published Jan 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 10, 2025

Weak password requirements in Kiwi TCMS 11.6 and earlier allow remote attackers to compromise accounts by guessing user-chosen passwords. The AUTH_PASSWORD_VALIDATORS setting supplies no validators, so account registration and password-change forms accept short, common, numeric, or personally similar passwords. Exploitation requires an account with a weak user-chosen password; successful guessing grants the access and data visibility assigned to that account.
