CVE-2023-22435Network attack vector

Service interruption via crafted-message stack overflow

Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Stack overflow in Honeywell Experion Server, Station, Engineering Station, and Direct Station allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The message parser mishandles a specially crafted message in server::get_db_path_for_driver, where the resulting stack overflow disrupts the server. A network-reachable service is the only stated precondition; Honeywell does not describe recovery behavior after the denial of service.
