Code execution via freed PLC-column memory access
Published Mar 5, 2023 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Use-after-free in JTEKT Kostac PLC Programming Software 1.6.9.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted project file. An out-of-specification maximum PLC-program column count causes the project-file parser to access memory that it has already freed. A local user must open the file; successful exploitation can disclose information or execute code in that user's context.
