CVE-2023-22408Network attack vector

FPC crash via malformed SIP SDP field

Published Jan 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025

Improper array-index validation in Junos OS on SRX 5000 Series allows remote attackers to crash and restart an FPC via SIP. The SIP ALG fails to validate an array index while processing a malformed SDP field, so it cannot process the packet and the FPC crashes and restarts. Call distribution and the SIP ALG must both be enabled; repeated crafted packets sustain the service interruption.
