Routing daemon crash via incomplete tunnel cleanup
Published Jan 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Incomplete cleanup in rpd in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash rpd over an MPLS adjacency. During a tunnel configuration change from a directly connected router, rpd fails to clean up associated MPLS TE state before processing the change. Exploitation requires that routing adjacency and interrupts routing service without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
