Authenticated user-record manipulation via unprotected API route
Published Apr 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Privilege escalation in Microweber before 1.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to administer user records through the REST API. The user API resource route omits admin middleware, exposing UserApiController operations to non-administrator accounts. Any signed-in low-privilege account can reach the affected route, enabling unauthorized reading, creation, modification, or deletion of user records.
