Service interruption via unsupported flow-route memory leak
Published Oct 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Memory leakage in Junos OS on affected PTX and QFX10000 devices allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to interrupt service. Installing an unsupported flow-route received over an established BGP session into the Packet Forwarding Engine fails to release FPC heap memory. Reachability requires an established BGP session and one of the specified chassis and FPC configurations; repeated installations deplete forwarding-plane memory.
