CVE-2023-22358

Privilege escalation via installer DLL hijacking

Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025

DLL hijacking in F5 BIG-IP Edge Client Windows Installer 7.2.2 through 7.2.3 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. The installer searches an uncontrolled path for a DLL and loads an attacker-placed library, but F5 has not disclosed the executable or DLL name. A local low-privileged account and execution of the affected installer are required; successful exploitation runs attacker code with installer privileges.
