CVE-2023-22342

Authenticated local privilege escalation

Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated May 12, 2025

Improper input validation in Intel Thunderbolt DCH Driver for Windows before version 88 allows local users to escalate privileges. Intel identifies the affected component only as some DCH drivers and has not published the input path, validation failure, or code locus. Exploitation requires an authenticated local user and high attack complexity; success crosses a security boundary and can compromise data and system operation.
