CVE-2023-22332Network attack vector

Database credential disclosure via SHOW POOL STATUS

Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Information disclosure in affected Pgpool-II releases allows remote authenticated users to obtain the watchdog life-check database password. SHOW POOL STATUS returns the plaintext wd_lifecheck_password value to any database user who can connect through Pgpool-II. Exposure requires watchdog query mode with use_watchdog enabled and a plaintext life-check password; the credential permits database changes or interruption within that account's privileges.
