Code execution via crafted CXP file use-after-free
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Use-after-free in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.79 and earlier allows local users to execute code by opening a crafted CXP file. Public advisories identify freed-memory reuse during CXP file processing but do not disclose the affected parser, function, or precise lifetime error. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious project file, after which attacker-controlled code can run with the application's privileges and information can be disclosed.
