Code execution and disclosure via CXP use-after-free
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Use-after-free in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.79 and earlier allows attackers to disclose information or execute code via a crafted CXP file. The CXP parser accesses an object after its memory has been freed, but public advisories do not identify the affected routine or object type. Exploitation requires a user to open the file and can expose information or run attacker-supplied code in the CX-Programmer process.
