Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Unquoted service paths in ELECOM WAB-MAT 5.0.0.8 and earlier allow local users to execute code with Windows service privileges. The installer registers the Windows service executable path without quotation marks, so Windows can resolve a planted executable earlier in the spaced path. A local user who can write a malicious executable to the selected path gains the service account's privileges when the service starts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
