Arbitrary code execution via unchecked parser object
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Use-after-free in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.79 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted CXP file. The CXP parser operates on an object without first validating that the object still exists, allowing freed memory to be dereferenced. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file; resulting code runs in the current process, and the same flaw can disclose information.
