CVE-2023-2227Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated settings disclosure via missing API permissions

Published Apr 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Improper authorization in Modoboa before 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to read sensitive settings through a parameters API request. The ParametersViewSet for /api/v2/parameters/core/ lacked authentication and superuser permission classes, so a GET request returned core configuration data. No account or user interaction is required; exposure is limited to data returned by the endpoint, with no established service interruption.
