Authenticated server crash via undisclosed optimizer flaw
Published Oct 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Denial of service in the Server Optimizer in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.34 and earlier and 8.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash it. Oracle has not disclosed the optimizer operation or crafted input that triggers the fault. A low-privileged MySQL account with network access can cause a server hang or frequently repeatable crash, without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
