Authenticated server hang or crash with data disclosure
Published Jul 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Oracle MySQL Server Client programs 5.7.42 and earlier and 8.0.33 and earlier allow remote authenticated users to hang or crash the server. Oracle has not published the specific code locus or operation that mishandles attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires low-privileged MySQL-protocol access and high-complexity conditions; a successful attack also reads a subset of server-accessible data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
