CVE-2023-22044Network attack vector

Limited data disclosure via invalid array indexing

Published Jul 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in HotSpot in Oracle Java SE 8u371-perf, 17.0.7, and 20.0.1 allows remote attackers to read limited data. HotSpot mishandles array accesses using the binary remainder operator, allowing the resulting index to reference an invalid array position. Reachability requires attacker-controlled data to reach affected HotSpot APIs, such as through a web service or sandboxed Java client.
