VM hang or repeated crash via undisclosed flaw
Published Jan 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle VM VirtualBox before 6.1.42 and 7.0.6 allows local users to hang or repeatedly crash Windows guest VMs. Oracle identifies the affected component only as Core and has not published the operation or input that triggers the failure. Low-privileged host logon is required, and the flaw applies only to virtual machines running Windows 7 or later; the bounded consequence is a VM hang or frequently repeatable crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
