CVE-2023-21889

Local disclosure of hypervisor-accessible data

Published Jan 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Information disclosure in Oracle VM VirtualBox Core before 6.1.42 or before 7.0.6 allows local users to read a subset of accessible data. Oracle identifies only the Core component and has not published the affected code locus or the operation that improperly exposes data. Exploitation requires low-privilege logon access to the VirtualBox host and is bounded to unauthorized reading, with no reported write or service-interruption impact.
