VM hang or repeated crash
Published Jan 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle VM VirtualBox Core 6.1 before 6.1.42 and 7.0 before 7.0.6 allows local users to hang or repeatedly crash VMs. Oracle has not published the flawed Core operation or the input that triggers the hang or crash. Exploitation requires high privileges on the host infrastructure and applies only when the targeted virtual machine runs Windows 7 or later, limiting impact to interruption of that VM.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
