Authenticated optimizer-triggered service interruption
Published Jan 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.31 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or repeatedly crash the server. Oracle identifies the Server Optimizer as the affected component but has not published the faulty operation or crafted input that triggers it. Low-privileged MySQL Protocol access is required, and the documented consequence is limited to interruption of database service.
