CVE-2023-21758Network attack vector

System denial of service via crafted Vendor ID

Published Jan 10, 2023 · Updated Jan 1, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in Windows IKEEXT allows remote attackers to interrupt affected systems through a crafted Vendor ID payload. The IKEEXT service on UDP ports 500 and 4500 dereferences a null pointer while processing the malformed Vendor ID payload. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation creates a denial-of-service condition on the system.
