Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows RPC Runtime allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted RPC traffic. Microsoft identifies the locus as RPC Runtime and the weakness as a heap-based buffer overflow, but has not disclosed the affected routine or unchecked memory operation. Network access to an RPC service and low privileges are required; successful exploitation runs code with that service's permissions.
