CVE-2023-21648

Memory corruption via RIL APDU integer overflow

Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Integer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon RIL firmware allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory while sending an APDU packet. Qualcomm identifies an integer-overflow-to-buffer-overflow sequence during RIL APDU transmission but does not disclose the affected function or arithmetic. The gate is local high-privilege access, and public sources do not establish whether successful corruption causes a crash, code execution, or another concrete outcome.
