Memory corruption via mismatched Video API instance ID
Published Jul 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Video firmware allows local users to corrupt memory by invoking APIs with a mismatched instance ID. The Video API implementation accepts an instance ID that differs from the identifier returned during initialization and operates on the wrong instance context. High-privilege local API access is required; successful exploitation can compromise data and interrupt the affected device.
