CVE-2023-21630

Memory corruption via synx arithmetic overflow

Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Multimedia Framework allows local users to corrupt memory via combined synx bind and signal calls. Integer arithmetic wraps when synx bind is invoked with synx signal, causing the framework to operate on an invalid size or range. Reachability requires local invocation on an affected chipset; Qualcomm has not published whether the corruption causes a crash or code execution.
