CVE-2023-21608Known exploitationPublic exploit

Code execution via resetForm object use-after-free

Published Jan 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Use-after-free in affected Adobe Acrobat Reader releases allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious PDF. The resetForm method operates on a field aggregation object without checking that it still exists, allowing PDF JavaScript to reclaim and reuse freed memory. A victim must open the file or visit a malicious page; successful exploitation runs code in the current Reader process and user context.
