Arbitrary memory read via Bitcoin UTXO command processing
Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
An out-of-bounds read in the bc_core trustlet in Samsung Blockchain Keystore before 1.3.12.1 allows local users to read arbitrary memory. The bc_core trustlet reads beyond the intended buffer while processing the CMD_COLDWALLET_BTC_SET_PRV_UTXO command. Exploitation requires high local privileges on a supported Galaxy device and exposes memory confidentiality without reported data modification or service interruption.
