CVE-2023-21508

Local code execution via unchecked TUI resource data

Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Samsung Blockchain Keystore before 1.3.12.1 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a TUI command. The bc_tui trustlet processes BC_TUI_CMD_SEND_RESOURCE_DATA without a proper boundary check, allowing data to be written outside the intended buffer. Exploitation requires local access with high privileges and can execute code in the affected trustlet context.
