CVE-2023-21442

Location disclosure via unrestricted implicit intent

Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Improper access control in Samsung Runestone before 2.9.09.003 on Android 11 or 3.2.01.007 on Android 12 allows local users to read location data. Runestone exposes location information through an implicit Android intent instead of restricting delivery to an explicitly addressed component. Exploitation requires locally executing code on an affected Samsung device, and the published impact is limited to location confidentiality.
