CVE-2023-21433Public exploit

Silent app installation via unchecked intent extras

Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Improper access control in Samsung Galaxy Store before 4.5.49.8 allows local users to install store applications through a crafted intent. The exported AlleyDetailActivity passes untrusted GUID, directInstall, and directOpen intent extras to AlleyBundleContainer, then installs the named package without a permission check. Exploitation requires a malicious app already present on a Samsung device running Android 12 or earlier and can silently add and open another store-hosted app.
