SSID disclosure via hijackable implicit intent
Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Improper authorization in ePDG in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 10 through 13 allows local users to access the Wi-Fi SSID. ePDG sends the SSID through an implicit intent, allowing an application with a matching intent filter to receive the value. A malicious application running locally needs no privileges or user interaction; the reported consequence is limited to SSID disclosure.
