Physical protected-container access via missing PIP-close lock
Published Feb 9, 2023 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Improper authentication in Secure Folder on Samsung Mobile Devices Android 12 allows physically proximate attackers to access protected data. The container fails to lock when picture-in-picture mode closes because its lifecycle handling omits the required lock restriction. Physical possession and user interaction are required; exposure is limited to data available in the still-unlocked container.
