Authenticated denial of service via path traversal
Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Path traversal in AXIS OS 10.7 through 11.6 allows remote authenticated users to block the web overlay configuration page. The dynamicoverlay.cgi VAPIX endpoint improperly resolves traversal sequences in a path, making the overlay configuration interface unavailable. An operator- or administrator-privileged service account is required; the published impact is limited to that interface, not the entire device.
