Local privilege escalation via background activity launch
Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Privilege escalation in Google Android 14 allows local users with User execution privileges to launch a background activity. Activity Manager's undisclosed logic error permits a background activity launch that normal background-start restrictions should block. Exploitation requires existing local User execution privileges but no user interaction, and the resulting elevated privilege boundary is undisclosed.
