CVE-2023-21325

Installed-app disclosure via Settings side channel

Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Information disclosure in Settings in Google Android 14 allows local users to identify installed apps through a side channel. Settings exposes an observable discrepancy when an app is present, allowing a caller without package-query permission to infer installation status. A low-privileged local app can perform the inference without user interaction, but the published record does not identify the affected Settings code path.
