CVE-2023-21273

Adjacent code execution via negative SDP index

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Android 11 through 13 allows physically proximate attackers to execute code through Bluetooth SDP processing. When SDP_AddAttribute fills attr_pad, its index calculation can produce -1 and write a null byte before the intended p_val buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required, but the attacker must be within Bluetooth range; successful exploitation executes code on the device.
