Local information disclosure via unchecked model array counts
Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to disclose process memory through malformed neural-network requests. parseInputs in ShimPreparedModel.cpp iterates over attacker-supplied input and output arrays without first checking them against the model array sizes. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, but no user interaction or additional execution privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
