Cross-user image disclosure via unchecked CallStyle URIs
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Information disclosure in Google Android 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to read cross-user notification images without interaction. Notification.visitUris omits CallStyle-related image URIs, so the framework grants content access without verifying that the posting app can grant those URIs. A low-privileged local app must submit a crafted CallStyle notification; exposure is limited to image data reachable across Android user boundaries.
