Local privilege escalation via page-list integer overflow
Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
An out-of-bounds write in Android's PowerVR GPU component allows local users to elevate privileges through PMRWritePMPageList. Integer overflow in PMRWritePMPageList causes the function to write beyond its intended memory bounds while processing a page list. Exploitation requires local access to an affected SoC device, but needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction.
