Remote Bluetooth service crash via missing null check
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Dec 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Android 13 Bluetooth SDP handling allows remote attackers to crash the Bluetooth service via crafted traffic. In btif_sdp_server.cc, on_create_record_event proceeds without the required null check and reads past valid memory while creating an SDP record. Exploitation needs no privileges or user interaction, and the resulting impact is limited to service interruption.
