CVE-2023-21150

Local information disclosure via incorrect socket bounds check

Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Dec 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in the Android kernel audio service allows local users with System privileges to disclose adjacent memory. The handle_set_parameters_ctrl function in hal_socket.c applies an incorrect bounds check before reading parameter data, permitting a read past the intended buffer. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and no user interaction; the reported consequence is local information disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
