Local information disclosure via missing null check
Published Jun 28, 2023 · Updated Dec 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in the Exynos RIL component of Android kernel allows local users with System privileges to disclose memory contents. BuildSetConfig in protocolimsbuilder.cpp reads configuration data without first checking for a null value, crossing the intended buffer boundary. Exploitation requires System execution privileges on an affected Pixel device, needs no user interaction, and affects confidentiality without reported modification or interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
