CVE-2023-2112

Cross-session data access via launch status function

Published Apr 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 23, 2026

Improper access control in M-Files Desktop before 23.4.12455.0 allows local users to move laterally between Windows sessions. The flaw resides in the desktop component service's launch-session-status function, but M-Files has not disclosed the missing authorization check. A low-privilege local account and a second session are required, and exploitation permits cross-session data access or modification without interrupting service.
